The Echocardiogram is a new useful non-invasive diagnostic tool for cardiac evaluation. Since there is no report on echocardiogram in normal Koreans except normal E-F slope of Koreans which was reported by Kim, authors studied echocardiograms of thirty healthy male Koreans of age ranging 24 to 35 years. The normal heart dimensions, mitral valve motion, left ventricular volume, left ventricular myocardial volume and left ventricular functions were measured echocardiographically and the results were as follows:
1. The normal mean heart dimensions of Koreans were, RVD: 1. 99 cm, LVID: 4.61 cm, LV posterior wall thickness: 0.85 cm, IV septal wall thickness:
.0.86 cm, LAD: 2.73 cm, Aortic Ring: 2.82 cm, LA/ Aortic Ring ratio: 0.98, Septal-LA dimension at mitral valve: 4.7 cm, RVD/M2: 1. 15 cm, LVID/M2: 2.63 cm, LAD/M2: 1.57 cm and Aortic Ring/M2: 1.6 cm.
2. Normal mean slope and amplitude of anterior mitral valve motion were, E-F slope: 79.5 mm/sec, A-C slope: 79.8 mm/sec, C-E amplitude: 26.9 mm, A-C amp.: 18.4 mm, D-E amp.: 17.5 mm, E-F amp.: 19.2 mm, A-C/C-E: 69.9%, systolic LV outflow tract (Lt. sept-C): 40. 1 mm and diastolic LV out flow tract: 17.7 mm.

Normal mean intervals of anterior mitral valve motion were, Q-C int.: 0.073 sec, A-C int.: 0. 121 sec, C-D int.: 0.331 sec, D-E int.: 0.091 sec, E-F int., 0. 133 sec and F-A int.: 0.270 sec,´ The heart rate corrected data were, Q-C int.: 0. 081 sec, A-C int.: 0. 134 sec, C-D int.: 0. 340 sec, D-E int.:. .0. 09sec, E-F int.: 0. 142 sec and F-A int.: 0.032 sec.
4. Normal mean left ventricular volume was 168.7 cm3, left ventricular myocardial volume, 65 cm3 and left ventricular mass was 68.2 gm.

Normal mean left ventricular functions were, systolic endocardial excursion: 1.2 cm, mean systolic endocardial velocity: 23.5 mm/sec, mean diastolic endocardial velocity: 35. 3 mm/sec, mean velocity of circumferential fiber shortening: 0.93, stroke volume: 80.4ml by Fortuin formula and 60. 6 ml by Pombo formula and ejection fraction: 71.1%.
These data are close to the data of Feigenbaum and others.
